Adding Vitality to America’s National Parks
As part of Unilever’s commitment to sustainable development and contributing to the communities where our employees, customers and other interested stakeholders live and work, Unilever is supporting the National Parks America Tour (“the Tour”) for the tenth consecutive year.
The Tour, sponsored by Unilever, in cooperation with Wal-Mart Good Works, the National Park Foundation and Take Pride in America, is designed to engage Unilever employees and citizens of all ages in volunteer “service-to-the-land” projects to help protect and preserve America’s National Parks. Activities include park beautification, infrastructure enhancements, and overall park maintenance. This year, more than 20 National Parks across the United States will host the Tour for Unilever employees and their families, customers and community members.
Between 1998–2007, this eco-friendly event has resulted in over 70,000 volunteers contributing more than 280,000 hours of community service. This commitment translates to volunteer hours valued at $4.75 million for America's National Parks.
Unilever is proud to be the longest-standing corporate partner of the National Park Foundation and a Proud Partner of America’s National Parks–delivering sustainable solutions to infrastructure needs, educating youth about environmental sustainability, and supporting volunteer activities to protect the Parks for future generations. At Unilever, we believe we can do well by doing good.
We look forward to seeing you on the Tour!
